Where are Milk & Honey products manufactured?
All our bed linen and towels are manufactured in Portugal and our duvets and pillows are manufactured in Germany. We specifically use EU countries because the workers are paid well, the quality is of an exceptional standard and the carbon footprint of transporting them to the UK is kept to a minimum. Milk & Honey believe that quality goods do not need to cost the earth and we are continuously reviewing our manufacturing and transportation processes in order to maintain this balance.

Why are natural fibres and fillings better than man-made ones?
Natural fibres and fillings are kind to your body and to your skin, they have been used as bedding for thousands of years for the simple fact they enable your body to breathe and regulate its temperature. This leads to a more peaceful nights sleep. Man-made fibres such as polyester or fillings such as hollow fibre are essentially plastic based and do not offer this kind of heat regulation.
From an environmental aspect, all our natural products are bio-degradable therefore can be disposed of (if you ever wanted to get rid of them!) in a way that won’t harm our planet. We all know that plastics take hundreds of years to degrade so you also get a better night sleep by having a clear conscience!

What are the various sizes available for Milk & Honey products?
Superking, king, standard, double... what does it all mean..? Check out our handy size guide for a comprehensive and simple explanation.
What is a standard Milk & Honey Fitted sheet and Duvet Cover?
A standard Milk and Honey fitted sheet and duvet cover means that they are plain and are totally free from any finishing detail. They come in two colours Sucre Glace, a pure white or Creme Anglaise, a rich cream. Just what you need!
What is a plain stitched flat sheet?
A plain stitched flat sheet is finished by a border seemed with the lockstitch technique. It uses two threads, an upper and a lower that "lock" together in the hole in the fabric through which they pass as opposed to chain stitch which unravels easily and is usually used on lower quality garments. It looks simple and hip, perfect for our Contemporary range flat sheets!
What is a thread count?
The Thread Count refers to the number of threads contained in one square inch of fabric, including both the length (warp) and width (weft) threads. The higher the Thread count is does not mean necessary the better though as we are made to believe. Extremely high thread counts (typically over 500) tend to be misleading as they usually use 'plied' yarns (one yarn that is made by twisting together multiple finer threads) For marketing purposes, a fabric with 250 yarns in both the vertical and horizontal direction could have the component threads counted to a 1000 thread count. Good quality sheets start at 180 thread count that’s why we have used 200 thread count in all our bed sheets because we believe this is the ideal quality to remain at a reasonable price.
What is a Tog?
A Tog is the measure of Thermal Resistance so the higher the number, the more heat retention you will get. A higher Tog does not mean better quality.
Why do you not sell any higher than 8'0 Tog duvets?
Because people and natural fillings interact uniquely unlike synthetics fillings, please consider few elements carefully before choosing the warmth that will suit you.
We personally feel that winters are less colder, that our houses are more insulated, our heating systems are getting better and as all our duvets are made from natural fibres and fillings we believe it makes them extra snug and warm. From these observations we genuinely believe that any warmth above 8’o tog for our Milk and Honey duvets would feel simply uncomfortably too hot. However as we have said this is totally subjective and goes down to personal preferences so it is up to you to decide the best for you whether you would use a 4’o Tog all year around or you prefer to change warmth with the seasons, you choose!
What is cotton satin?
Cotton Satin creates the sheen and softer feel through the use of a structure in the weaving process consisting of four over one under, placing the most threads on the surface making it extremely soft.
Cotton Satin is overindulging you with a smooth and velvety touch. Feel restful, soothed and pampered all over!
What is an Oxford Pillow Case?
An Oxford style Pillow Case has a border all around the edge.
What is Bourdon Finish?
Bourdon Finish is more usually known as Satin stitch which is a series of flat stitches that are used to completely cover a section of the background fabric. It creates a narrow row effect that finishes alluringly a garment, gorgeous for our Classic Style range pillowcases and flat sheets...
